Flowerknot Beanie is worked from the brim up and it features simple yet beautiful cables creating a flower-like pattern. The brim is worked in 1x1 rib stitch pattern and is folded after finishing.

Finished beanie measurements
Body circumference: 42.5 (47; 51) cm [16.75 (18.5;20) inches], blocked, without stretching. With the brim folded, the beanie measures approximately 22(23.5; 24.5) cm [8.75 (9.25; 9.75) inches]. The beanie is intended to be worn with approximately 7– 10 cm / 2.75 – 4 inches of negative ease.

Size 1 fits a head circumference of approx. 49.5 –52.5 cm [19.75 – 21 (21.5 – 22.75; 23.25 – 24.5) inches]. Size 2 fits a head circumference of approx.54 – 57 cm. Size 3 fits a head circumference of approx. 58 – 61 cm.

Yarn
Approximately 200 – 240 meters / 220 – 265 yards or 50 – 70 grams of fingering weight yarn, and 200– 240 meters / 220 – 265 yards or 25 – 30 grams of lace weight yarn held together or a single strand of suitable yarn that gives you the correct gauge. Sample beanie is knit in laurelknits SuperSock in colorway Common Sense (85% SW Merino, 15% Nylon; 400 meters / 440 yds per 100g) and Udu Lite in colorway Naturelle (65% Brushed Suri Alpaca, 35% Silk; 400 meters / 328 yards per 50g) held together.

Needles
3.5 mm / US 4 short (40 cm / 16 inch) circular needle or size needed to obtain gauge. Optional: DPNs or longer circular needle in the same size, if preferred, for the crown decreases.

Gauge
23 sts and 32 rounds = 10cm / 4 inches worked in rib stitch, on 3.5 mm / US 4 needle, in the round, blocked. Size 2 cable pattern measures 7 cm /2.75 inches over 20 sts.

Notions
scrap yarn (preferably in contrasting color), crochet hook and an extra needle (preferably in a bit bigger size than your working needle) for the special Tubular Cast-On technique using crochet cast-on, cable needle (optional), stitch marker, tapestry needle
